Dr. Michelle Kwok is a Chiropractor at AIM with a diverse background in Kinesiology and Chiropractic. She completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology at the University of British Columbia, where she laid the foundation for her understanding of the human body and its intricate connection to the mind. Motivated by her passion for healthcare, Michelle went on to obtain her Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine from the University of Western States.
Prior to Michelle’s journey as a chiropractor, she worked as a Kinesiologist, a role that allowed her to gain valuable experience and discover her true calling. During this time, she had the opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals, including athletes, individuals involved in ICBC motor vehicle accidents, those with long-term disabilities, and individuals with WorkSafe cases. This experience exposed her to various aspects of rehabilitation and solidified her commitment to helping others achieve optimal health and wellness.
Dr. Michelle’s approach to Chiropractic care encompasses a comprehensive range of techniques tailored to meet the unique needs of her patients. She combines chiropractic manipulation, Active Release Technique (ART), soft tissue therapy, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) movement system, Neurodynamics, and therapeutic exercise to address both the immediate symptoms and the underlying causes of discomfort. Central to Michelle’s philosophy is the importance of movement and patient independence, empowering her patients to take an active role in their own healing process.
Recognizing the value of a collaborative and integrated approach to patient care, Michelle regularly collaborates with other healthcare professionals, and she firmly believes that a multimodal approach provides the most comprehensive and effective treatment outcomes for her patients.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Michelle has always been an avid participant in physical activity and sports. Throughout her life, she has engaged in activities such as spin, competitive dance, golf, volleyball, hiking, snowboarding, and weightlifting. Her personal experiences with active rehabilitation, driven by various injuries she has faced in the past, have given her a profound understanding of the challenges her clients may encounter. Michelle aspires to support her clients in setting and achieving their goals, overcoming injuries, restoring functionality, and minimizing pain, enabling them to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
