Neural Therapy is a safe and effective therapy that has been used widely in Europe for decades in the treatment of nervous system and musculoskeletal disorders. The technique involves the injection of a local anaesthetic (such as procaine) and other sterile anti-inflammatories to restore normal functioning in areas of the nervous system that have been disturbed or blocked by local trauma, scarring, muscular trigger points, or diseased tissue.
Some conditions effectively treated by neural therapy include sinusitis, neck and back pain, athletic injuries, poorly-healed injuries, joint pain, and areas functionally disrupted by deep and superficial scarring.
Patients may expect temporary numbness and mild bruising in the therapeutic area. Should any lingering discomfort exist, an ice pack can be applied to the affected area. Individual responses to treatment will vary, but most patients see great improvement in an average of 6 visits.
After a thorough intake and physical examination, your physician at AIM will discuss whether trigger point or neural therapy may be indicated and effective for you.
