Shauna Coxe is a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and Therapeutic Touch provider with over 25 years of experience in working with chronic stress, chronic pain and trauma. Shauna’s Somatic Therapy approach is a gentle, co regulation and bodywork oriented practice. Her scope and experience includes neonatal and birth trauma, sleep disturbances, migraines, PMS, chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, ADHD & neurodivergence, symptoms of anxiety, low mood, surgeries, medical trauma, women’s health, stress illnesses, including the impact of compounded shock traumas, loss and grief and symptoms that arise without medical origin. 

Supporting her clients as they unravel ancestral and intergenerational trauma in a gentle way is a passion for Shauna, as this is a way forward in healing and preventing trauma from continuing in future generations. Shauna works with young adults, adults, individuals in relationships living with trauma and parents seeking to heal and support their children.

Shauna’s own experience in life, as a mother of three, having experienced motor vehicle accidents, surgical trauma, early life and inter-generationally transmitted trauma patterns led her to seek out body based, nervous system work to heal. Sharing your story and experiences in life is important, but much of what is patterning in our bodies has a non verbal story or a story unknown to us.

Education:

Shauna completed her certification in Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Aromatherapy and Body mechanics in 2001. In 2013, Shauna continued her studies, completing an Applied Psychology Bachelors’ degree in pre-counselling. Her studies included early human development, self regulation and emotional intelligence. 

Honouring her many years of experience working with clients nervous systems through aromatherapy plant medicine and lymphatic drainage massage. In 2019, Shauna began her studies in Somatic Experiencing®  a three year, body based psychotherapy model for traumatic stress regulation and trauma resolution. 

Shauna has completed post graduate studies in Somatic Practice Touch® skills and Resilience and Regulation® training in the somatic effects of developmental trauma, attachment and the impact trauma has on expression of epigenetic influences. This focus helps her provide healing from the effects of developmental trauma and traumatic stress by working directly with your nervous system. Shauna continues to be an active learner, assists somatic trainings and incorporates current research in an ongoing way in her practice.
